MY GAY ACCEPTING PARENTS HATE MY BLACK BOYFRIEND! (FULL STORY)

black gay boyfriend

They are totally cool with me being gay but when it comes to dating “black guys”, they are extremely racist.

By Christopher in Orlando

I guest progressive liberalism has its limits.

Ever since I can remember, I’ve been attracted to guys. My family has known I was gay probably from the time I was 5-years old when I asked for a Barbie play-set for Christmas. And you know what? They have always been cool with it.

But apparently being gay and having a black boyfriend is just too much for them to deal with. Here’s a quick rundown of my story – plus some background on me and my family.

I’m 36 years old and live in Orlando, Florida. For the most part, I’ve lived in this area my entire life, except for the four years I spent in the Navy working on a small frigate. I’m your average looking gay guy that comes off as masculine.

Some guys have told me when I sport a flattop that I look a bit like Adam Levine, except I’ve got green eyes. I have my own condo in Colonialtown, a small gayborhood that isn’t all that exciting. I work as a nurse for a major hospital and love my job.

Just a little more background

Most people don’t know this but the Orlando area is fairly progressive, namely because so many people work for gay friendly Walt Disney. Both of my parents were born in the area, with my Mom hailing from the tiny little Pine Lake area and my dad from Winter Springs. They’ve been married for 40 years and are well liked by people in the area.

Dad works construction and was on the original crew that helped to construct Epcot. My mom has generally been a stay at home parent. I’m an only child because after I was born, my mother had to have her tubes tied for medical reasons.

What else …

They voted for every Democrat for president since I can remember, except for Obama (they skipped that election). They hated George W. Bush and will have nothing to do with anyone is politically aligned against gay people.

They sound pretty cool, right? Well not so fast because they aren’t. Two years ago, I met a Puerto Rican guy named Pablo at my gym and we hit it off right away. He’s a little younger than me (34) and moved with his family from PR because his dad got hired as a mechanic with Southwest Airlines. Pablo is employed at Universal Studios in group sales and makes really good money.

About Me and Pablo

We started off casually dating and as time went on things got more serious, which was something the both of us never really planned.

Pablo is a mix of Dominican, Spanish and African American and looks a lot like Colin Kaepernick. He explained to me that many people from Puerto Rico are of mixed decent because of the history of the island. He’s so beautiful – with chocolate brown skin, hazel eyes and killer body.

What’s even more attractive than his appearance is his personality. Pablo is always smiling and naturally draws people to him. He’s really that magnetic.

So I haven’t talked to my mother or father since they dissed Pablo’s parents and by extension, us. Our wedding is planned for this coming May during Disney’s “Gay Days”. We both think getting hitched in the Magic Kingdom will be memorable.

There’s really not much more to add to this story except to say I’m glad I got it off my chest. We’re planning on having kids someday. It’s going to be very sad because there’s a very good chance the child will not know her/his grandparents – at least on my side.

If anyone reading this has any suggestions, I’m certainly open to it. To be honest, I’m so angry with how they have treated us that I’m not sure I will ever talk to them again.
